An artist residency dedicated to exploring the intersection of visual art with plant symbolism and personal narrative. As part of the residency, I created a series of paintings inspired by myths and plant symbolism. Additionally, I designed and produced unique packaging for specific medicinal and ritual plants, such as myrrh, absinthe, St. John’s wort, and rue.
The packaging is a key component of the project, as each piece features special texts (lyrics/narratives) that merge the symbolism of the particular plant with intimate personal histories and memories.
For example, the myrtle(MURTA) packaging includes an emotional reference to how the plant was woven into my mother’s wedding dress, lending the entire project a personal and intimate dimension.
